YOUR LIFE IN LANTANA
For the relatives making visits and asking questions
Many Lantana families balance work and home responsibilities with visits to a parent or relative in care. You may notice changes between visits, receive conflicting explanations, or struggle to reach the right person. We can help you organize those observations while keeping your loved one's immediate safety at the center of the conversation.
Concerns worth explaining clearly
Changes you have observed
Describe injuries, changes in behavior, or unmet care needs without trying to diagnose the cause yourself. Dates and specific observations are more useful than assumptions.
Questions about daily care
Care plans, incident reports, and communication about assistance or supervision can help explain the situation. A fall or injury requires context and does not, by itself, prove neglect.
A record of your efforts
Keep the names of staff you contacted, the concerns you raised, and the responses received. We can discuss what those records may show and what still needs investigation.
Put safety first, then organize the details
- If your loved one is in immediate danger, call 911. Do not wait for a legal consultation to seek urgent help.
- Document concerns and seek appropriate care or protective assistance. Save messages, dated notes, and records you are authorized to access.
- Speak with us about a civil review. We can explain how a legal claim differs from reporting suspected abuse to the appropriate authorities.
Questions about this practice area
Can I contact you before I know exactly what happened?
Yes. Explain what you have observed and what remains unclear. A consultation can help identify questions to investigate; it is not a finding that a facility or staff member did something wrong.
Can you help if my relative lives outside Lantana?
Tell us where the facility is located and where the events occurred. We serve families from our North Palm Beach office and can discuss whether the matter is within our practice.
Is calling a lawyer the same as making an abuse report?
No. A civil consultation does not replace a report to protective services or law enforcement. Immediate safety concerns should be addressed directly with the appropriate emergency or protective authorities.
